We know the story, the stupid jokes - it's all very Disney and predictable. This one could've at least tried to be a little bit believable. The Rock is a solid performer, but he's not up to the task here. The young daughter Peyton is too cute for words, even when she comes off as though the prompter queues her every line. I can't recommend it - it's just too familiar, and tries too hard but it can't hurt the youngsters.

Predictable like any movie of the Disney. But not good to watch like many movies of the Disney. Terrible actings.

Generic kids flick. 40 points for the girl's name being Peyton. I want a daughter just to name her that.

It definitely could have been worse, and most of what saves it is that The Rock honestly seems to be giving it his best, rather than just phoning in his performance and picking up the check later.

"Yawn!" Sitting through this made me appreciate bathroom breaks and my popcorn, which seemed much more interesting than The Rock or anything else that was on the screen. Dumb jokes, horrible acting, and an annoying young actress made time tick by quite slowly. Kids might find this entertaining, but for your sake, take them to something else.

Lame and unfunny- was forced to watch this several times on Mexican buses and it got old very fast.

Generic, but Peyton and The Rock did a decent job, and I personally thought they seemed like they were having fun, and the relationship between them was good. Good for kids, but very predictable and very panderded and polished for kids.

I will say the film is generic, and by all means if you don't like it, that's to be expected. For me, The Rock and Pettis are both charming as all hell, and I love their banter. They pass off as a great dad-daughter duo, and I did find the emotional moments to be pretty fulfilling. I will not say this is a great movie by any means, but it's such a big guilty pleasure for me. Especially compared to Johnson's earlier work like the "Tooth Fairy" I think this is just fine for what it is.

Tell me if I've got brain damage, but it was really quite enjoyable to watch :D Kind of takes Disney back to 80's-90's when they still wern't trying too hard to bee cool.

so what if it's predictable? the rock plays a character that suits him quite well and he does it in a believable and entertaining manner. it's a cute movie with a cute little girl to boot.

Heartwarming, but too predictable. Still, the daughter is really cute and The Rock is in his best performance yet, and he's just a joy to watch.

Yes, it's a Disney sports movie so it's completely predictable and sappy, but it's got the Rock in it so I can't fail it.

The ballet scene was great. The dialogue, especially when it came to football metaphors, was terrible. They probably could have cut a bunch of scenes with background characters.

Joe Kingman is a professional American football player in the NFL. He is single and enjoys life as a well-known sports icon. But then it turns out that he has a now 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. Parties, girlfriends and dates suddenly have to make way in part for ballet lessons, bedtime stories and dolls.

Another one of Johnson's family-friendly Disney movies. That was to be expected and that was what I got. The Rock is charming as is most of the cast.

Very predictable and stereotypical. I was surprised only once during the whole movie and only because I was too bored to actually wonder about the plot. Dwayne Johnson's acting skills are good here, but even if they had been perfect it wouldn't have changed the quality overall. We all know a father is important to a child, but why recall it over and over again in another copy-pasta movies? The most innovative thing I liked the most was the remote, specifically its "romantic" function turned on.

This movie is such a button-pusher, constantly doing everything it can to appeal to all members of the lowest common denominator demographic, i.e. the nuclear family with young kids. The result is so anodyne and predictable. Dwayne Johnson is the Jennifer Lopez of romantic comedy male leads. Way to go, Dway-Jo.

But you still can't resist wanting to ruffle the film's furry ears, and you can't walk out of the theater without smiling. The Game Plan takes the seldom-trod high road when revealing Joe's unknown daughter: Surprise! She wasn't conceived out of wedlock. Then it goes on to show how a self-centered man works to become a love-centered dad. And there are just enough grins and plucked heartstrings to keep families connected and happy. (pluggedin.com)

"A remixed version of Elvis's "Rubberneckin'" is an apt credit sequence number, since the movie is itself a similarly trivial, jazzed-up version of a standard." - Nick Schager
