The Gallows Act II

To really understand how bad the Gallows part 2 is, you have to have seen the first one. Not because they're connected in any way, shape, or form, but rather because you have to ask yourself, "how really allowed this to happen a second time?"

I'm not sure why this would get made, as the first one didn't exactly set the world on fire outside of the box office results. Regardless, this might be the stupidest horror film I've ever seen. It's pretty horrible in all areas, wether that's effects, acting, cinematography, story structures, build up, etc etc. it also doesn't make a attempt to really connect itself to the first one, basically using it's name in hopes of extra money. This is just bad, but who honestly cares?

Coming from the same writers that gave us the clumsy, half-assed & all-around bad first Gallows movie, this was never very likely to be much better- and it's not. In fact, it might be worse. While it's fairly well shot & decently acted, the writing is incredibly lazy & just poor in general, with the plot taking a turn somewhere around the halfway point & rapidly going downhill from there. The characters are flat, the ending is an awful mess, & the pacing is sluggish. This is a disappointment.

I wasn't that big of a fan of the first film but I was actually entertained by this one. Now let's not lie this isn't good but it is fun in a late '80s early '90s straight to video kind of way. I really didn't like the ending though.
