The Forgotten Faces

Here Watkins is beginning to have a stronger sense of the mix of theatrical and pseudo-documentary elements, and the result is quite a bit more effective than his earlier short on World War One.

An early short by Watkins, starting the ideas that he would work with in feature films, but it doesn't come close to the style he would perfect in them. It also lacks Watkins' own voice as a narrator, something that has added a great deal to his later work in terms of mood.
