The Flirting Widow

The way the movie started, I almost believed it was gonna be a lesbian story. But not even in the precode era was that gonna happen. Instead it was a creaky romance story. The stupid idea actually ended up working quite well thanks to the two leads Dorothy Mackaill & Basil Rathbone. Mackaill was a real character at first in her boyish get-up, but turned into a delicious woman soon enough. Rathbone did the 'stiff army man with an enthusiasm for theatrics' trick. Simply ridiculously amusing.
