The Flemish Farm

Enjoyable wartime drama does nothing much to distinguish itself from the myriad of other 40s British war films, but still maintains interest (and without the star power of a Mills or Bogarde anywhere to be seen). Mary Jerrold contributes the single best, most painfully touching scene as a mother secretly meeting with her war-bound son.

A fine British war film taking place in Belgium. Has a lot of those very British qualities, but at the same time the story is kind of stale and doesn't nearly leave things to sink in as much as I would have wanted. Leaving the experience a little flat for me.
