Is it bad that I thought some of those ideas sounded fun? I love films that are so obviously from 1970's Britain and this one couldn't be much more so. Some of those kids were smashing actors too. A fantastic, arty, memorable public information film.

Ranking in the middle of the pack among the three 1977/1978 graphic public information films, John Krish's The Finishing Line still manages to hold up well today. Very graphic and bloody and often times quite disturbing, but incredibly well-made all the same. Very Highly Recommended.

Deeply controversial on release, it's probably the grimmest of the ultra-violent PIFs because of its relentless pace and the nonchalant attitude the characters take towards the violence. Each incident unfolds with a terrible clarity and inevitability. During the penultimate race across the tracks, I was held in suspense as deep and sick as any "real" horror film.
