The Fifth-Column Mouse

Better than most of the war propaganda shorts WB was putting out but is it just me or does anyone else find it slightly disturbing that the allies were depicted as cowardly vermin?

More dully affirming propaganda. Someone more insightful than me could probably hash out why I find Sylvester, Elmer or Wiley Coyote getting owned funny but not this. Is it just that it's sanctimonious? (Even as obviously worthy as fighting Nazism was?)

A decent idea for a metaphorical story for small fry (mice = citizens of democratic governments; cat = Nazi menace) that gets screwed blind by the usual witlessness of the Warner Brothers cartoon people
