final sekansının fecaat mizanseni bir yana, thriller olarak olmasa da yandan yemiş fakat dümdüz gitmeyen bir tarih görselleştirmesi olarak işliyor.

I didn't feel the main character's (Timothy Hutton) motivation was convincingly established-- perhaps I missed a vignette early on. Regardless, the falcon seems a forced metaphor. The editing seems a little dated. Good acting all around. Sean Penn essentially plays himself, and he would possibly agree with that assertion considering that decades later he briefly hired his character's real life personage to be his personal assistant.

An OK political thriller but has some very slow spot and Sean Penn is the most molestery looking person in the history of the world.

Pauline Kael: "Sean Penn's whiny, strung-out Daulton Lee [is] an attention-getting bummer of a performance. You feel as if the artist has disappeared and you were left watching a twerp playing a twerp."

Here's a history lesson. In 1986, a man with access to a large satellite dish blocked HBO's broadcast of this movie to display a message in protest of their signal scrambling practices. That man called himself Captain Midnight and he's one of very few people to successfully interrupt a television broadcast on a large scale. The question remains... is this movie any good? Let's put it this way: the Captain was doing you a favor.

Interesting, but not great. The paranoia stuff was good, but the movie drags in a lot of places. When it comes to Timothy Hutton/Sean Penn matchups, I prefer Taps.
