They NEVER make movies like this anymore. Daly plays a female rookie who only gets her position bc of politics &... actually can't keep up with the guys! If this were made today, she'd be so amazing she'd get the job in spite of the evil sexist system. Daly's great though & delivers the film's best line: "You laugh at me you bastard & I'll shoot you where you stand". Awesome. Unfortunately, there's more cliches & worse: there's no good villain & a flaky mayor we don't care about at stake.

The Enforcer started the downward trend of the Dirty Harry films. Eastwood is as cool and bad ass as ever. But otherwise everything else contributes to a lacklustre Dirty Harry outing. The supporting performances are poor, especially Tyne Daly who is incredibly annoying. And the so called terrorist group are too hippy and bland to take seriously. The plot is forgettable and doesn't explore or delve into the character as much as the previous two films. Overall the series has just lost its edge.

Dirty Harry is pointing his Magnum at the most bland villains in movie history. It looks pretty cheap too.

Despite a weak team of villains & a slapdash social context with Harry getting a female partner, & less grit & impact it still has that great 70s action vibe of the first two. I need to put extra emphasis on the failure of this movie to deliver a good villain...eastwoods trek to take them out feels like something he's doing for lack of anything better to do, perhaps the same reason the movie got made. Despite rocket launchers on the street there's never the sense of peril & chaos of the first 2

Harry flexes his bad-ass muscles a little more than in the previous two, but this movie's lack of consistant action, and overly cliched plot push it away from being equal to it's predecessors.

Not nearly as terrific as the first two installments in the franchise, but Eastwood and Daly are likeable. Would've been pretty good if the bad guys wasn't so ridiculously lame.

Weakest of the series and a mostly bloated genre flick -- but it deserves some credit for those last shots showing police forces getting to Alcatraz and announcing they accepted the terrorist's demands, when actually they are all already dead (Harry's female partner included).

The series takes a goofy, campy turn almost to the point of a parody. It's still entertaining but it's so divorced from its tight, hard-hitting predecessors it's hard not to be disappointed. And this time around the villainous group is a bunch of hippies? Ughh, certainly the worst in the series but I have yet to see Dead Pool.

Clint Eastwood is "marvelous" again in the lead role. Tyne Daly is also very good as his partner this time around. This is what you would expect from a Dirty Harry movie.

The terrorist group is full of paper-thin character stereotypes and is pretty much impossible to take seriously. This is a real shame considering the previous Dirty Harry films all had impressive and believable villains. It does illustrate the problems with affirmative action: placing someone who isn't experienced into a role where they could endanger themselves and their partners. Oddly Harry is notably progressive and his opposition isn't his partner's gender but her inexperience.

Both Clint Eastwood and the series are pretty much on autopilot. Granted, Eastwood is badass and hugely entertaining even on autopilot, but is forced to battle a goofy squad of terrorist hippies who are jokes compared to the villains of the first two films, not to mention the movie never even bothers to pretend like Callahan might be in danger or have to put forth one iota of effort to stop them.

Eastwood, more hard-nosed and glaring this time, battles a lacking script, goofy plot and characterless villains - in fact there's little of interest going on in this movie. The best moments come from scenes not exactly integrated into the storyline - a hostage situation early on and Harry's smart-ass remarks to his superiors. The female rookie partner adds nothing of interest, and worst of all, the bad guys are barely touched-upon. Their whole terrorist plot goes brushed over. Severely bland.

Come for Dirty Harry partnered with a female cop. Stay for that funky-ass '70s chase music.

Some fun moments with the gender relations in this workforce -- watching the policewoman's initial scene on YouTube is what made me want to watch this movie, and it's interesting to see her whole uber-feminist angle be challenged by herself (even though she's a stupid bitch who keeps jeopardizing her life). The action ranges from exciting to downright disappointing (they didn't even bother with a mannequin in the final explosion).

Like the second movie this third one is enjoyable enough, for large part thanks to Eastwood, but doesn't live up to the tightly paced, well directed thematic balancing act that was the first one. The pacing of the Enforcer is much tighter than of Magnum Force, but it is far less interesting thematically with a run-of-the-mill plot and paper-thin villains.

I remembered that this was stronger, but at least it’s shorter than the 1st sequel and pairing Harry with a female partner was a nice idea. He also has some funny lines and I also enjoyed the blaxploitation influenced scenes. It just feels like a routine effort which is underlined by lack of Schifrin score. The extremists are not that interesting villains and mostly just wait for the final shootout. The finale works a nice teaser for Clint/Siegel's Escape from Alcatraz.

Just when you thought he couldn't get any dirtier, he doesn't. Apart from when he shot the fleeing man in the ass.

I quite enjoyed this film, with some decent chases, action sequences including explosions etc. and so on, plus Callaghan's disdain of finding himself lumbered with a, of all things, female partner(!). His catchphrase in this film appeared to be 'marvellous(!)' said in very much a sarcastic tone of voice, of course. Callaghan's legendary coolness is maintained and I respected his ability to point out others mistakes, no matter the response.

Right on! Dirty Harry movies never exceed good but hell are they consistant. While not as good as the first 2, The Enforcer still manages to bring the suspense and fun of Eastwood to the cop drama. I dig the franchise and this is a solid third entry.

The first two Harry Calahan movies were somewhat above par for the action genre, but the franchise loses steam in The Enforcer. It's still worth watching if you liked the others, but the writing is cornier, the directing is clumsier and the acting is pretty weak.

I hated the goddamn rookie chick partner. Horrible character. I can forgive the movies flaws because Dirty Harry is so cool but she really ruined the movie for me. Ending is great though: Harry Callahan: Maxwell! [Maxwell fires at Callahan] Harry Callahan: You fuckin' fruit. [Callahan fires an M72 LAW rocket launcher, obliterating Maxwell] lol

Another good installment for the series, but although the ending is certainly explosive it still feels subdued and lacks the impact of previous installments. Eastwood is still as good as ever though. "As I remember, the last time we played as a team I got the cue stuck in my ass."
