The Enchanted Forest

So the plot makes zero sense. Everyone, including the good guys are kind of douchy (Stop pulling her arm like that! She doesn't want to go on a hike with you!). And that kid pushed the boundaries of the word "annoying". Clearly, the only ones who had a clue what they were doing were the animal handlers, who did amazing work getting all the natural predators and prey to stay in the same shot.

One of poverty rows biggest successes! PRC didn't exactly make ambitious pictures, but this was one of the very few. Shot in color, Cinecolor, a budget version of Technicolor, The Enchanted Forest (1945) becomes a fine 'adventure in nature' type movie. Reminds a little of those more basic Disney family films of later years, wholesome with animals as some of it's main characters. Kind of slow and simplistic, but there is warmth there as well.
