The Devil's Nightmare

A bunkered Nazi soldier stabs his own infant daughter in the first three minutes just in case you thought The Devil's Nightmare was going to be a comedy. Erika Blanc's special makeup is very effective despite being rather simplistic and that alone really helped the later half of this film. Not recommended but as October background this serves itself right. Having said that, I will undoubtedly share this with someone myself because I'm daft.

A more or less enjoyable heap of hokum. The main problem was that it seemed draggy in the middle...once we lost track of the Baron and Hans (two enjoyable characters indeed).

It's a shame the DVD has no subtitles for the italian audio. I guess the film would be better without the campyness of the english dub.

The Devils Nightmare is a creepy atmospheric film. The plot involves 7 tourist, who each represent one of the seven deadly sins, who must stay in a castle for the evening since the road they are taking is blocked. Later in the evening a succubus disguised as a woman comes to stay the night as well. The succubus attacks each person using their pleasure against them. Erika Blanc appears to really enjoy playing this roll. This is an enjoyable piece of early 70's Euro-horror.

Terrible acting, pacing and directing. The music sounds like something you'd find in a porno. The weak story relies on an over abundance or nudity and sex scenes, nice for some but I want more in a movie. There were a couple of good parts but not many. As an aside I personally don't like when there are close up shots of people's mouths when they are eating or drinking its just gross.

O demônio sai à meia-noite estreava há 50 anos na Bélgica. O Seven original, com demon twist. Parece interessante analisando seus elementos em separado, grande, elenco, excelente trilha sonora, ambientação quase giallica em seu clima gótico, mas o resultado geral é meio tolinho.
