The Devil's Honey

A surgeon distracted by his failing marriage accidentally lets a young musician die on his operating table, so the musician's distraught girlfriend kidnaps and tortures him. Of course, since this is a European sex film, they end up having a weird sadomasochistic affair. The story is pretty stupid, and the flashbacks reveal the musician as an obnoxious twat who probably deserved to die. Still, it's packed with nudity and a girl fucks a saxophone, so it's not a total waste of time.

Fulci's only foray into the erotic thrillers and anyone familiar with his gialli won't be surprised he has the skill needed for this type of movie. The movie has some problems in the plot, characterizations and pacing but Fulci's directing more than make up for those. Fulci makes great use of the saxophone score... yeah this is the 80s... to heighten the mood

An awful, sexist & exploitative mess that plays like it was written by someone who's only heard the term "erotic" explained to them vaguely in a foreign language, & who believes that abuse qualifies as romance. It's also quite slow, as nothing happens in the first half hour- except one of the most ridiculous sex scenes in history. And that's the thing: for as trashy as this is, it's so silly & unbelievable that it becomes entertaining. How & why Fulci decided to make this I have no idea.
