Steve Lanyon known as the Desert Rat returns with gold and saloon owner Brazos Pete plots to get it. After he gets his girl friend to marry Steve hoping that will do it, Steve's old girl friend arrives and when Brazos is attracted to her, Sadie gets jealous and kills Brazos. Sadie flees and when the Sheriff arrives he finds the new girl with the gun in her hand.

Minor western business concerning a prospector cornered into a sham marriage. One of those productions where the intertitles carry most of the weight since the performances won't. We did get a few seconds of saloon fight in there towards the middle though.

The first in a series of twelve two-reel Westerns Franklyn Farnum did for Canyon Pictures. Pretty standard, but I did love spotting a young Buck Jones as a Native American! He was quite dashing with that long hair. More so than the leading man.
