The Dark

Reminiscent of J-horror, only instead of a creepy pale kid with black hair, there's a creepy pale kid with blonde hair. I guess that's an important difference or something. Overall, it's a pretty unremarkable film. Full of horror clichés and hackneyed plot twists. Some of the mythology back-story was interesting, but it really wasn't developed enough to make me care.

This is more about landscapes, isn't it? Quite boring horror-thriller... at least I'd hoped for a bad ending. Fail.

If you see this on DVD remember to check out the "alternative ending". A perfect way to end watching this tacky and messed up movie.

It is not a good movie, it does not add anything to the genre.
