How does a cheesy romantic movie turn out so well? I have no idea.

For a cheesy romance movie revolving around ice skating, it's actually not all bad. But then again, it is a cheesy romance movie that revolves around ice skating, so it's inherently bad.

Now I first saw this movie when I was a kid having no idea what it was about. I've always been a hockey fan, and I took ice skating lessons as a kid, so I had somewhat of a bias to this movie based on the subject matter. This movie is funny, and sad, and charming. The only thing that kind of takes away from it all is their little talk right before the big performance, but other than that it's a well put together romance.

The ending is a bit underwhelming, considering how good the rest of the movie is. It's not really any kind of bummer, though. I really dug the visceral style of this. Cinematography as well as sound deliver some punch and make this movie as sexy as it should be. Couldn't imagine anyone else as the two leads, either.

Modestly pitched and produced underdog story yields proportionately modest results, but this is still enjoyable, thanks to a screenplay that manages to treat its cliches with a degree of sincerity and understatement, complemented by Sweeney and Kelly’s performances which similarly never strive too hard for effect. The utter predictability and contrived nature of the story beats are inescapable, but it’s easy enough to become invested in this tale, even if it can’t quite transcend its roots.

The soundtrack is painfully dated, but the chemistry between the leads is excellent, and the film makes them both into real, flawed people. A very good romantic comedy.

I recently rewatched this and I still this it's a cute movie. Yes, there are certain plot twists that are somewhat predictable/annoying, but overall it's a cute story and a fun twist on romantic comedies and sports movies. :)

This movie was okay, but not spectacular. As a romantic comedy, it is seriously lacking on the comedy side.

Somehow the onscreen chemistry just works. Simple, but nice story.

Has a few semi-redeeming moments. But it's not a great movie.

This is One of My Favorites! I love the struggle between the two main characters! The movie starts off with each character in there own little world. As the story goes on there world joins each other and they hate each other! Through it all they can't live without each other and it's a great show on them finding each other.
Overall One of the Best Romantic Comedies i've ever seen... I love how the two main characters connect the end.
