The Cure

Often moving drama which seems poised for greatness is unfortunately compromised by a barely believable second act, and some clanging, tasteless missteps towards the denouement which suggest the film-makers lost their faith in the truth and honesty of the underpinning tale of childhood friendship. Still a great film till the midpoint, with Renfro and Mazzello both delivering wonderful performances and sharing a winning chemistry, and Sciorra genuinely heartbreaking as Mazzello's mother.

Very moving film. Good acting and it's compelling all the way through. Worth a watch if you're looking for an emotional film.
