Two moronic junkies trauma bond over a week long bender of sex and drugs, and the audience is supposed to believe this is a love so pure that the universe has to intervene to make things right when they are killed. The ridiculous script feels like something written by an edgy teen, and whoever told FKA Twigs she was an actress needs to be kicked out of Hollywood forever. The only points are for the one decent fight scene, the rest of this can fuck off back to the purgatory it came from.

The Crow (2024) deviates much from its original predecessor’s flare and roots. Its attempt at a more modern and more accessible audience can be welcoming in theory, but its decision to bite into the Young Adult sub-genre so aggressively leaves it hollow and bland. Whether it’s between the confusing tonal shifts and uneven pacing, this version of the IP fails to establish any sort of identity within its construct, and in turn, kind of just floats lifelessly.

I've seen this getting some really really bad reviews - I wouldn't say it's THAT horrendous. I have no nostalgia for the first one, so maybe that's why, but I found it to just be a mostly badly-acted, kind of ridiculous, cheesy action movie. Felt geared towards teens. The action scenes weren't terrible, though they're mostly kind of clumsy "stumble-fighting", which kind of makes sense given the main character is just some regular non-trained guy who can't die. I even laughed a few times.

The direction was amazing at times, the costumes, the scenery, the design. The Eric-Shelly relations had more depth. Skarsgard was pretty good. People hating on this movie without seeing it... Give it a chance.

Not as bad as everybody would have you believe, but it's, mostly a bit dull. I have no great love for the original so maybe that's why I'm not getting upset. It feels like it was written by any emo teen. There's one good fight set piece, But the protagonist is not meant to be John Wick, the fights are understandably unskilled. I do like the introduction of other new supernatural elements in addition to the crow mythology.

I can't say I hated it, even if there are elements I do hate. Didn't really need some of the story elements that this film introduced. Eric's crow design is not even half as cool looking as Lees'. Dialogue is cringey at times. But I also think people spend too much time comparing the original with this. Yes, it's a remake, and yes, the original is better. This has some okay action and atmosphere, and isn't really boring, though it's obviously not the best version of itself. Very meh but not bad.

Romeo and Juliet for angsty 13-year-olds. This isn't a complete shitfest but it is an extremely shitty Crow film.

The Crow is not a perfect movie, but it is never as bad as it is made out to be. It does not follow the steps of the original adaptation and takes risks, thus opening the door to a much different atmosphere and story. The brutality of the action scenes is very enjoyable. Give it a chance by looking objectively.
