Norwegian ice skating queen Sonja Henie says farewell to Hollywood. There wasn't enough of a demand for cute ice skating pictures post-WWII, so she was forced to stick to ice shows after this. She eventually married one of the riches men in Norway, so she would be fine. Anyway, The Countess of Monte Cristo (1948) was exactly the light fluffy type of film that was a success earlier in her career. Perfectly fine popcorn movie, with some nice ice skating sequences thrown in.
