The Constant Nymph

The first version of The Constant Nymph (1928)! Silent and starring the lovable Ivor Novello. I was probable expecting too much based on the solid reputation this film has, for I had difficulties connecting the way I had for the 1933 talkie. The playfulness of the ladies doesn't come in full effect. Perhaps too subtle for my liking. On top of that, Ivor was almost slapsticking his way through the role, which took away from the seriousness of the adultery theme of the play.
