Jeff Bridges' screen debut! And what a performance! Saves the couple single-handedly. He was 6-months-old. His brother Beau and their mother appeared too. Anyway, besides that little historic tidbit, this was a real fine showcase for Jane Greer. A troubled lady trying to go straight, and showing the range needed without going overboard. Lizabeth Scott might have been more of a heavyweight, but she had to take the backseat to Greer in this one.

Jane Greer is fine as the hard case just out on parole. Her ice-queen beauty, suppressed passion and darting hunted-animal eyes show what a fine Marnie she might have made. Alas, this is no "Marnie." Jeff Bridges makes a brief appearance as a baby in the train station.
