The City of Lost Souls

Characters are uninteresting. The whole film does not aroused enough emotions. A bit chaotic. Conventional.

Even by Miike's standards this is a psycho gonzo mishmash, though not as successful as his other work. The bravura stylistic madness is fun to watch, but it does drag in sections, and the plot is pretty dumb. Worth watching though.

Um filme estranho por excelência, só pelo fato de ter um protagonista como esse tal de Teah, um nipo-brasileiro com um sotaque de gringo. Mas esse longa é muito mais estranho que isso, a estória se passa em um Brasil totalmente inventado da cabeça de Miike, o que não deixa de ser interessante. Destaques para a cena da rinha de galos-matrix e para o carioca pilantra (esse sim um brasileiro original).

Straight forward for a Takashi Miike film, lots of great story twists and turns with unique direction and some good weird laughs along way.
