The Circus Kid is actually a good silent movie even if it's not very well known. Falls a little in the category of standard dramatics, but with duo of Frankie Darro & Joe E. Brown help cover up the ordinariness of it all. It's more a financial limitation then anything else, but it's above the normal programmer films released at the time with both comic and dramatic elements firmly combined together. Plus it's cool to see two well known 1930s faces early in their careers.
