The Chipmunk Adventure

It has a much stranger and more alarming plot than I realized watching as a kid. Evil yuppies recruit children for worldwide diamond smuggling via hot air balloon? It hasn't aged well: grating 80s pop hits, embarrassing ethnic stereotypes, and overly serious villains clashing with the doe-eyed cartoonish style of the chipmunks and chipettes. Still, there's just enough nostalgic 80s adventure charm here to keep things vaguely entertaining.

I like that the chipmunks are the only real "cartoons" in this movie, while everyone else seems to belong in more adult genres based on the way they act and are drawn. Some fascinating, somewhat disturbing things going on beneath the surface of this one, particularly involving all the grown ups. I'm convinced Dave might just be suicidal...

Oh hell yes. This movie was it when I was a kid. I really dug it. Who doesn't like a balloon race around the world?

Sweet childhood memories

Kids growing up today will never be quite right in the head, and it's because of the lack of Alvin and the Chipmunks in their lives. This musical and fun movie is one that no kid should go without. Really good!

rvw. still one of my favs CUZ THEY'RE THE GIRLS OF ROCK 'N ROLL lol shouldnt it be 'n'. it is :P. and they're THE GIRLS WITH THE DIAMOND DOLLSSSSS. it's actually funny. some amazing songs. some meh songs and moments. score is great too. love the traveling and rivalry. the villains standout cuz their designs and voices. the end swerve and then jamal getting dave to diamond dolls amps me up. Jan 2021 still, but the meh brought from 95 to 90

Eh, this was not a good cartoon to begin with and it definitely doesn't make a good movie. These little rodents peaked in the '60's with their Christmas album.

Funny, I was just thinking about this movie the other day for probably the first time in 15 years.. I don't remember much of it, just the scene where they made the natives dance to "wooly bully"

Kids in the 80's sure did have it good! My sister and I used to sing all the songs. Ahh...memories.

Surprisingly fun, tuneful and entertaining. Several good laughs. Great script and decent animation.

Loved it as a kid, can't watch it today.

Nothing reminds me of my childhood than this movie. Brings back some good memories.
