Luis Trenker, still the king of the mountains. Here remaking a silent movie he once starred in - Der Kampf ums Matterhorn (1928). And it's a real European project, making both a British and German version, right in the middle of a continent ready for war! The English version feels the roughest. Might be because of difference in quality of available print. Or it might be because the German language film was the primary version where they payed most attention to detail when constructing the movie.
