The Case of the Black Cat

Ricardo Cortez takes over for Warren William as the famous defense lawyer Perry Mason, and therefore the series loses the playfulness that ruled the William films and instead becomes a test of patience of whats actually going on with no tomfoolery to cover up the messy production. Didn't help that June Travis was a poor replacement as his secretary Della Street and had no chemistry with Cortez. Okay as a throw-away mystery, but in no way a film one need to seek out.
