This was one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. Brutal but just creative storytelling (not everything works, but still!). What starts off as a relatively simple but intriguing plot, quickly descends into chaos and madness to great effect. Watch this without knowing too much about it. It's a wild ride.

Probably a good idea in there somewhere, but right now I don't have the spoons to dig it out.

A totally absurd story filled with time paradoxes but still somehow enjoyable, more or less, which ends by setting up a sequel in such a way that everything that came before becomes almost completely incomprehensible (guess that was the idea). Didn't realise until the final credits that this is in fact a remake of a British/Puerto Rican film from 2011.

But I'm ignoring the final post-credits scene... Which doesn't fit with the logic of the rest of the film at all.

ChatGPT prompt. Write a horror movie based on the scene in back to the future where Marty's dad is disappearing from the photograph. Also, please make it awesome.

Best to go in knowing as little as possible, but believe me, if you're a fan of dark Korean thrillers, this one is right up there with the best of them!

The film is slick and plenty engaging. You definitely won't feel that you've wasted your time. But I can never suspend my disbelief with these sorts of timeloop movies. They never have consistent rules for how actions in the past affect the future. This film is no different which is why I couldn't enjoy it more fully.

Now I usually don't like thriller genre but that's what I call character development, acting and plot twist.

Why can't more American films be like Asian ones? I'm a sucker for any time related films, and this one works quite well. I didn't expect it to go in the direction it did, but was satisfied overall.

The closest a movie has gotten to the first Butterfly Effect (the sequels didn’t quite make it). Also feels the least South Korean of all the South Korean films I’ve seen, for what that may be worth. The acting seems fairly good, and the pacing is great. The logic (like the Butterfly Effect) doesn’t quite add up, but it’s fun if you don’t over analyze it. The second ending after the credits start is a bizarre mood killer that would’ve been better as an alt ending on YouTube.

A bit convoluted and sometimes stretched, but I really don't mind a pulpy, well-acted, fun as hell time travel low fantasy horror flick so keen to pull twists and create such a frenzy, just plain weird and mutant atmosphere in a nearly shot-to-shot basis.

Interesting concept for a movie. Well acted, well written, sweet cinematography, banging tunes. There's obviously going to be inconsistencies when tackling this kind of topic but they do their best to make sense of everything. The "true ending" when the credits start redeem what seemed like it was the actual ending. Good stuff!

Enjoyable thriller, but to say that it doesn't stick the landing is something of an understatement. Some viewers might be able to justify the final twist through some convoluted extrapolation of the film's logic; as far as storytelling goes, it feels unearned and self-indulgent.
