I've seen very little of Hoot Gibson's 1920s output, so it was with great pleasure I got to see the charming cowboy in such a polished rodeo western. Not that Hoot films usually possessed high quality production, but The Calgary Stampede (1925) might be one of the most polished films he ever did. Most ambitious too. Not the best paced, but with the rodeo stuff, and the main plot slowly brewing before the chase finish, this was very nice.
