You just know a sequel will be good when not one single person associated with the original came back. Did I mention the 'direct-to-video' part? The only reason I could keep watching this is that it was filmed in Vancouver (where I live), and I wanted to keep playing "Spot That Location!" with my dad. That's what you get when your director was the D.P. on I Know Who Killed Me.

Everything acceptable from the original film has been dismissed. I like that though stories of movies are around the same idea they do not repeat each other. Stories themselves are worth for telling. But as a movie they just do not work. Especially this easily predictable latter one.

Dreary and tedious time-jumping saga has no fun with its central conceit, and can’t even make clear what its “rules” are (outside of the unintentionally hilarious moments when a character ostentatiously commandeers a camera for the sake of the plot). Bland and disengaged performers combine with some story twists that seem unnecessarily grim and sleazy – perhaps its greatest achievement is to inspire favourable (if now 20 years removed dim) memories of the Kutcher original!

Pretty decent and entertaining sci-fi/thriller. If you enjoyed the original of this there is no reason you shouldn't think this is at least decent as the stories are really not that different. I actually enjoyed a little more the effects used to show the time shifting on this one, but perhaps the story is a little weaker (this almost always occurs when making a very similar sequel with different cast/crew).

Probably could have done better if they didn't try to affiliate it with the original

Second of very interesting movie series.
In this, the actor can travel inside the picture, and see things there, and even act there (this is the addition here).

This film kept my attention so it gets high marks for that. What it doesn't do is produce a good story or even a passable story. They make no attempt to explain the main characters powers. I guess they just assume you watched the first movie. The actors are almost all horrible. The ending made me want to gouge my eyes out, that shot from under the vehicle as it's flying through the air... really? Like I said, at least I wasn't utterly bored but this is a very bad movie still.

This movie touches different problems than the first of them. The first one was mostly concentrated on psychological side of changes, this one shows actual effects. Don't hope for it to be the second version of the great first one. The director tried to reach as many people as possible - we have two male leading characters who are in opposition to each other regarding appearance and behaviour to suit everyone's taste, two sides of females' character, but still, the plot could be more interesting.

I loved the first film, however this one I did not enjoy so much. It was produced quickly and based itself only on the popularity of the first movie. It is over simplified for the people who couldnt understand the already relitavely simple but interesting ideas in the first film. As with many sequels, this is not a great film because a good film has an original and interesting plot. This film has copied and oversimplified the first film's idea. Moving film, but a let down.

Stupid stupid movie. Half soft-porn half insulting the intelligence of a potty-trained monkey. There are a lot of good time travel flicks, but this is one of the worst i've seen yet.

Film-technically all good, but what's up with the storyline? K, it's something we would all do, but it's brought so unbelievable an sometimes so annoying. And what the hell happened with the ending? Has to be one of the worst endings I've ever seen. Ruined the entire movie.

it was more than enough with the first one, it didn't need to get a continuation to get into a decent level, but actually this just was a lame one comparing to the original, and if they decide to make a trilogy it'd probably end up in desaster; also there is not much new (if any) in this one.

This is a movie that should not have been done. Complete stinker. Erica Durance was alright, but she should've just stuck to Smallville. This was boring and the movie felt like it went on too long.

The first one was amazing! Butterfly Effect 2 is another example for butching out a franchise with only one target making profit whatever it takes. Reminds me at the creepy 8mm sequel. Hollywood sucks

It is not that it is bad, but it is not compared with the first one. I would prefer that not had been done.
