The Burial Society

Features some clumsy plotting and awkward this-Canadian-movie-totally-isn't-Canadian touches, but worth a look if you're into at least initially intriguing neo-noirs in unusual milieus, in this case concerning a small community's chevra kadisha, or burial society, a group of men who ritually prepare the bodies of deceased Jews. Not a patch on A SERIOUS MAN or Mamet's HOMICIDE, but there is a version of this movie that is, and it's pretty fun to think about while sitting through reality.

This independent film is a nice surprise. The plot has some nice twists and there is a good ensemble cast. Check this film out it may surprise you.
