The Bunny Game

Somewhere in the b&w desert stands a huge black semi truck, looking like an inverted cinemascope screen. Inside: a trucker who's kidnapped a hooker, and us, the viewers. A very, very violent film, supposedly all done for real and based on something that really happened to Getsic - yet filmed like an art school project. It's all staged, not in the doing but in the viewing; come see the violence inherent in the system, do your bit in the objectification. Whether that makes it a good movie...

Supposedly the actress is REALLY branded in one of the scenes. It looked real. This movie is retarded though. Barely makes sense, is uncomfortable to watch, and not entertaining. You have to be a real freak to enjoy this.

One part art, two parts snuff. Outstays its welcome even at a lean 75 minutes; it's not as shocking as it wants to be, though I did find the narrative sufficiently involving, a minor win given the genre and context.

Pure, nearly plotless torture-porn with very little development, deliberate repetition, mostly just three characters and one location. In b/w with choppy arty editing and an obviously very low budget. Look for tension elsewhere, as the only element of horror here is nonstop unexplained nastiness. The acting is good, really, though it's no August Underground.

Okay. Not a whole lot happens. There's plenty of annoying screaming from the victim, and a fair bit of equally annoying laughter from the truck driver, but it all seems pointless. Is that the point? The Bunny Game itself is a silly affair. It's baffling how someone came up with this and thought it was a good enough idea to produce. Why?

I liked the idea, acting was mostly nice and the editing was good, but there was not much for the story. It was kind of building the plot in the beginning but the horror part got stuck and never got really anywhere. The concept was worth to explore though.

just an all around garbage film. Starts off alright but dies quite quickly and becomes a boring torture porn. Not gory, not shocking, not interesting. Fat trucker rapes and tortures prostitute for an hour, the end.

Why is this banned? Are the BBFC banning porn now? Because that's exactly what this is. Degradation porn. Unsimulated sex doesn't make your film edgy, guys.
