The Brussels Business

The EU is a corrupt empire of bureaucracy-ridden spineless so-called democrats serving their masters' economic agendas - even the kids know this these days. The film, focusing on a specific aspect of the vastly complex network of corruption (of this new rendition of the Roman Empire's economic policy of ever expanding periphery that feeds the centre) - lobbyists, think tanks, conglomerates - feels irrelevant in 2022. In light of the deep other problems of the EU, this feels like a red herring.

Illuminating documentary on the rotten state of the EU, showing us that big business and big states go hand in hand. Unfortunately it draws a few incorrect conclusions like acting as if big business is all business and some big businesses means all - some big businesses and some industries are in bed with Brussels and that's a problem but let's not pretend that big business hates regulation, it loves it because it had a hand in making it.
