Paper-thin and clumsily derivative crime drama; elements of SCARFACE brush against various Scorsese copyright claims, and we get a liberal dose of post-Tarantino/Leonard "hip" characters and dialogue which quickly evaporate to nothing once its revealed how threadbare and frankly dull these characters are; leave it to Rhames to swoop in and steal the film. A hopelessly rote, rise-and-fall crime narrative which is not exactly unpleasant to watch, but entirely anodyne and forgettable.
