You can already see Kiarostami's genius in this short.

Cute, yes, almost asking for comparisons to Lamorisse's Ballon Rouge, which itself used fantasy to paint a sober picture. This might be that film stripped down to a verite-style situation.

It's a cute little movie that could have been half as long and it would've been just as good.

already we have a feel for kiarostami's spacious editing and concern for particular human perspectives. it really is surprisingly proficient technically. simple and slight, but a really good debut short.

Simple but fun, and well-shot cute short.

There's not much to this, except that it hints a little bit at what is to come from Kiarostami later in his career - down-to-earth cinema. The dog is really cute and looks at the cameraman a lot.

Picturesque little film shot with style and a nice soundtrack, though it feels a little empty.
