Decent, if somewhat cliche Pixar short. There were bits and pieces where I could hardly tell if what I was looking at was animation or an actual filmed street.

All 60 points in this review go to the nicely designed poster, and the absolutely stunning animation. Seriously, seeing how Pixar has progressed visually since Toy Story is truly incredible. The plot of this, however, leaves a lot to be desired. In my freshman filmmaking class, my teacher would have referred to this as a "gotta get the girl" story, by which he meant that character A's only motivation is to romance character B, and there is nothing else but obstacles and no substance.

The animation is what carries this short, I was stunned and excited with how surreal photo-realistic animation can be. But the story is very over done, and God why couldn't they pick a better song.

Much like Sun Tzu's The Art of War in that the brilliance is in its simplicity yet it's weakness is that nobody really thinks Chinese history is that great except the British and the Chinese.

Charming! Great animation as well.

As always a solid short from Pixar, but it felt a bit too similar to Disney's superior Paperman from last year. The animation (I'm almost not sure if that's what it is) is stunning, and the good execution lifts a pretty done-to-death concept.

Pixar has an obsession with anthropomorphizing random inanimate objects and making them fall in love.

Pixar'ın diğer animasyon şirketlerine rest çektiği animasyon. Sevimli mavi şemsiye, flört ettiği kırmızı şemsiyesine kavuşma anı. Tabii ki yönetmen, animasyonu çocuklar izleyecek denmiş. Mutlu son yapmışlar. Çok dokunaklı.

stunning visually, cutesy nothingness outside that. but the visuals really are something.

Average Pixar short that could've been better had it concentrated more on the mundane parts of the street coming to life in the rain than two brollies with faces drawn on them. Earns an extra half-mark for the animation: it's getting so lifelike it's frightening.

The near-photorealistic bits are pretty amazing from a technical standpoint, but that's about all this film does for me. It's a maudlin retread of done-to-death ideas, most of which were even done in the Disney short, Paperman, from last year.

Trite, like someone at Pixar decided that they should make a movie to prove old criticisms about personification right. Nothing really works, especially the live action and (as a friend called it) the "car-commercial" soundtrack.

I really love Pixar's shorts. No dialogue but masterful feelings.
