The Berlin File

Roteiro convencional e personagens arquetípicos legam nada de novo ao gênero, em voga como nunca antes desde o fim da Guerra Fria. O trio masculino de protagonistas é de rostos conhecidos para quem acompanha o cinema sul-coreano; a novidade fica por conta do cenário: Berlim em vez de Seoul. Não fossem os recursos tecnologicos atuais a serviço dos agentes, a oposição comunismo x capitalismo faria de The Berlin File um autentico exemplar dos filmes de espionagem dos anos 1970.

i only briefly looked at the plot before watching this so i was surprised it was actually an action film, and not a spy thriller with lackluster action scenes forced into it. the story is decent enough, it stops short of becoming complicated although i did have to really focus to understand everything...which prob means repeat viewings will be more fun. im a sucker for 25 minute action finales...but wow that was some great direction for the final shootout...and a pistol-whip fight scene!

It has some great production values, but they couldn't spend a little bit more time on the script and English pronunciation of the actors? It's horrible to listen to. 'Revenge is a dish best served cold, HUR, HURR, HUR'. Lame.

I've seen a bunch of negative reviews about this, saying it's confusing and a mess. It's confusing because it's got a lot of twists and turns, though I will concede that it could have been a little tighter written. The script wasn't bad though. I don't really see how it's a mess, and it had a decent flow to it. Most importantly, when the action came, it was thrilling and well made. I look forward to the sequel.
