The Belle of Broadway (1926) is a very light affair which works remarkably well. I doubt they would have gotten this much out of the material had this been a sound film, for this one comes alive by the adorable and ugly silent faces. It's the faces and facial expressions that draws you in. Betty Compson is the life of the party with so many, mostly old, suitors surrounding her. A very pleasant hour.
