Jason Statham doing what’s essentially a John Wick-esque movie. Pretty ridiculous but fairly entertaining for such a straightforward action romp. Tethers between stupid and serious, and yeah slightly better than I was expecting. An alright one-time watch and if there was a sequel, honestly I’d probably check it out.

You kind of know what you're getting into with this one, but even then it still didn't really live up to those expectations.

Feel like we just deserve better from our action movies. Sloppy hand to hand combat. Everything in a dull washed out colour palette. Statham going thru the motions. Even for a sicko like me having the president essentially be Hilary and the son be Hunter Biden was not enough to save it even if I couldn’t help but embrace the silliness of it all

A less elegant John Wick, replacing a secret society of assassins with the Beekeepers and Keanu Reeve's dog with an old lady who gets scammed by telemarketers? It's all pretty dumb and lifeless, with some silly exposition and under-developed characters thrown in. Statham is fine here as a laconic killing machine and there are a few scenes of "Jason Statham being awesome" violence that work, but it's all surrounded by such vapid dumbness, that it's all a fruitless experience.

Whatever you expect you from a Jason Statham vengeance movie, it provides that. Nothing more, nothing less.

Listen, I love cheesy action movies and Jason Statham. This... this was something awful.

If John Wick was written by a person who's brain was entirely replaced by two soggy cabbage leaves. So many characters are horrendous, but Verona (Emmy Raver-Lampman) is one of the worst. The only good parts are Statham kicking ass, and while sometimes this is good (elevator scene) there is not enough of it.

The writing is atrocious, but the acting and the story line is satisfying. How he knew things and how he got places was entirely obscure, but the consequences were devastating and the effects were fun to watch. It was just a bit too super hero like to hold any actual realism, but didn't range very far away from the outer bounds of what's possible (if you had a private army of spies and researchers to support you).

Jason does the "Jason bit" as well as can be expected. Lack of a writer is not gonna stop him. Helped by good cinematography but hindered by direction and plot and co-stars and anything other than fight choregraphy. Still, a not-too-bad way to lose a couple of hours of a drinking Friday night.

A retired special ops soldier murders his way to the top of the pile of a bunch of scumbug scam callers. While it's definitely a step up from the abysmally joyless Wrath of Man, it's still pretty joyless, unless you really dig bee related puns. Statham is definitely showing his age, but at least in this movie he actually gets to beat people up in fun ways instead of just shooting everyone in the face. The highlight for me was Taylor James as a completely unhinged South African assassin.

The flaccid centrist twist at the end almost ruined everything - all the very silly, terrifically inconsistent, beautifully unimportant harmlessness of everything else. Luckily Jason Statham just exists here, uncaring, plodding through ludicrous dialogue and fun action choreo with admirable stolidity. What a hero. Very funny, very bad movie.

It works only because of the simple story structure and Statham badass action sequences. The humor among the FBI agents missed the mark for me but the rest was fairly solid in terms of delivery. You get what you pay for with this one. A very in your face action movie with no let up. If that is the kind of thing you enjoy this is likely up your alley. It's brutal, violent and to the point. Take it or leave it.

Despite its similarities to John Wick, The Beekeeper manages to carve its own path as schlocky B-movie fun that leans into the violence & its own grandiosity. Statham has played this role many a time and remains great at it. But it's the scammer villains that make the revenge rampage that much more fun; who doesn't despise online scammers, private militias and corrupt elites...definitely more cathartic than generic Russian lackeys. Largely dumb, fairly predictable but entertaining throughout.

I was on board the first hour, but after that it went downhill for me. Not enough to keep me interested, maybe other people will feel differently. Gonna have to give this one a negative rating, but right on the cusp of being a positive.

It's dumb but also it is really fun, and you have to admit the action is neat, well made, and original. It's another movie of Statham doing his thing, it borrows a lot of the John Wick feel of the dangerous one man army everyone is afraid of. But in this, the bee dude feels grittier and ironically scarier at times. The brutality of the kills, the efficiency, the crazy escalation, and the endless references to bees, it's a jumble but it's a fun one. The precision in the kills almost shock

Uncompromising beautiful action flick, which you can't take too seriously. But seeing Jason Statham on a rampage is a glee to watch. One of his best movies yet, in my opinion, which can rival John Wick.

The Beekeeper is a classic action that isn't afraid to accept what it is. Often leaning into tropes that make you roll your eyes or ask yourself 'what mf wrote this script'. The fight sequences were unrealistic to the greatest degree. We can't forget the man himself, Jason Statham. A true hero to the action farm genre. All around a classic trash heap of an action movie in all the best ways. Thanks Jason.

This is an admirably simple film about Statham stomping loathsome bad guys. It does a few things very well. It engages in very little back story or explanation. It tells you enough about Statham to basically get you on his side, and doesn't ask him to stretch much beyond being a single-minded agent of vengeance.

As much as I appreciate the attempt to normalize the execution of online scammers, this movie "shit the bucket" in the words of my 16 year old. Low effort and low budget. And (spoiler alert, but you you deserve it if you pay to see this trash), they were calling for the murder of Hunter Biden, right? Is the box office success driven by MAGA types?

There are parts of this movie that are ridicules and you really have to suspend disbelief at some things that happen. However it is a fun action movie and a role that Jason Statham is well suited for playing. The action scenes are fun and the supporting cast is also good in this movie. Overall I would recommend this fun action ride.

Exactly what we wanted tonight. A stupid, but entertaining vengeance tale with some decent and brutal fight scenes. Kurt Wimmer wrote this and although he's penned some duds, this one is probably #3 for me behind equilibrium and law abiding citizen. Ayer likes directing pulpy actioners. Good combo. Statham is born for this type of role. I wanted this to push into the mid 7s, but the final third devolved enough for it to land on a 6.6. Very friendly scoring, but immensely entertaining junk.

Retired elite killer called a Beekeeper keeps bees in retirement, hunts down scammers (rightfully so) and it goes all the way up the President. It's as silly as it sounds. Statham's character is a few steps from being a Metal Gear character (in a good way) and I'm here for it. Good internal logic. Great action sequences. Statham's always convincing in these roles. If you want solid action and don't mind people referencing bees and saying shit like,"Protect the hive," watch this.

Ayer is a hack this whole movie looked like shit. How are you a big action director and have no sense for kinetic action. Feels like a video game in the worst ways possible. Moving from one level/set piece to the next while the fbi is one step behind, mouths agape. Entirely forgettable.

Statham is really the only one keeping the old 80s/90s action flame alive. This is derivative, not a great movie, and the "messed with the wrong guy" one man army premise is oversaturated, but I'll be damned if this isn't a fun time. Turn your brain off at the door and enjoy a good old fashioned action movie. I'm not convinced that parts of it aren't actually intentional self parody. It feels self-aware of its ridiculousness at times.

Jason Statham desperately attempts to rival John Wick and somewhat succeeds. I had to suspend my disbelief to unseen levels, but was rewarded with enlightenment. Despite the eye-roll inducing title, The Beekeeper promises action and delivers. It won't win any awards, but effortlessly entertains. Plus, Statham brings everyone's fantasy of burning down a scam call center to the big screen.

Jason Statham as a one-man army taking down cyber crime the old fashion way. By slaughter! It's definitely a Statham movie by how he kicks ass to ridiculous levels. And it might be(e) the most badass he's been in a while. They kept it simple and to-the-point, with no wasted time. No needless twists to complicate stuff. And that's why it was so good. He just goes in to protect the beehive in a straight-up massacre.
