A good minor Hitchcock imitation. Isabelle Huppert is very sexy, and Steve Guttenberg is much better than you'd think.

A watchable thriller that feels like it could have been so much more. Baffling choices are continually made. This film has enough butt that everyone can enjoy.

Mildly enjoyable but very stupid Hitchcockian thriller that only gets stupider as it moves along. Not sure if Guttenberg is good or bad in this. He's so dumb that it kind of had me rooting for him to get wrongly convicted. If that's what he was going for, well done. It's fairly fun in a turn your brain off way, but the stupidity of the characters and fairly underwhelming performances don't do it many favors. The premise is kind of fun--I could see this being remade better.

Guttenberg is very good as a self-satisfied smuck in a Hitchcockian thriller that would make sense to remake anytime soon (without the corny '80's elements).

Neo-noir/Hitchcock riff from Curtis Hanson who would later knock it out of the park with L.A Confidential. This one is directed competently, but the whole premise is so unbelievable that it's hard to take the film seriously, and unfortunately it keeps on getting sillier. It doesn't help that the main cast is quite bland: Guttenberg is better than I feared, but he doesn't really have any charisma either - McGovern seems to play herself as she's very similar in TV's Downton Abbey nowadays.

the phone booth fight was great. :D weird, how nobody in this movie seems to have a knack for scheming. or thinking ahead. cool, anyway.
