Just a sensational nature picture. "Hurt no living thing", could have been the mantra I suppose, but overall it bled into a unforgettable viewing experience, and kept me looking forward to a visit in the wilderness.

Excellent film and excellent children's entertainment. Manages to fit in a message about conservation without it being preachy or heavy-handed. Beautiful cinematography.

Notable filmmaking (camera work, editing) aside, its main asset is its willingness to keep it honest and present a nature picture with a somewhat likely plot that could be taken as a documentary. Alas, it got soft at the home stretch. If they gave Oscars for animal handling or locations, this was a shoo-in.

Great little nature film with some gorgeous shots. It's really impressive all the the animal training that had to go into this. Also, baby bear tripping on shrooms.

Liked this as a kid. It always made me kinda sad.

All I remember of this movie is literally crying like the little 6 year old I was at pretty much the entire ending.

If any of you have not gone for a camp where the wild things are, I highly recommend it. Just travel with someone who knows what the hell they're doing and keeps a 44 magnum. Grizzlies are cute and fascinating but not cuddly. Females, quadruple up on the maxi pads, if you must.

I found it cute and touching.
