A proper war documentary, this. Giving us a brief history of the Chinese people before going detailed into Japan's evil attacks with plenty of brutal footage of the killing and destructions caused by the Japanese army. Frank Capra & Anatole Litvak do a thorough job with this "Why We Fight" China-edition, for a docu-series which keeps on delivering.

The history lesson is dubious, but the incredible Nanking and dogfight footage makes this the most visually impressive of the series.

More war propaganda with the expected hint of racism and oversimplification, but still informative and well produced.

The customary (for the era) nasty racism towards the Japanese is mitigated somewhat by the very flattering portrayal of the Chinese. (Not one mention of Mao Tse-tung. I am Jack's total lack of surprise.) Another real piece of history, albeit a totally biased one, and as entertaining as all the other pieces in this series
