The Bag Man

Learnt a lot about trusting others, though about a very different profession.

Ok. So, it appears I may have enjoyed this more than the majority. The Bag Man is in no way a masterpiece but I can't help but feel charmed by the humor and the ridiculous violence. There was a fair share of stupidity but there were also a few neat twists. You can call me drunk but I managed to have a good time with The Bag Man. Crispin Glover gets props and Robert De Niro's hair scores bonus points. 3 STARS

It's viewable, not boring. But not enough to be good.

The Bag Man is one of the most contrived films I've ever seen. These trained killers never once behave logically or rationally. They simply do random things to get from one cheap/half-assed thrill/scare to another.

In the first five minutes I knew the ending was bound to be disappointing, but figured there'd be a good ride getting there at least. John Cusack puts on a good show, but in a sleepy go-nowhere film. Deniro phones it in, quite literally -- one of his lines contains one of the absolute worst ADR I've ever heard.
