The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle

I suspect people are scoring this based on their memories of the terrible trailers - or simple prejudice against movies of its type - rather than the movie itself. It's not great by any means, but doesn't deserve near the amount of the hate it gets here. Some of the jokes are legitimately clever, the tone is playful, and the character animation is appealing. OK for kids.

Rocky & Bullwinkle saves its stupidity with self-aware humor. The absurd amount of star power actually seems to want to be there, especially De Niro. Piper Perabo, however, really knocks it down with her high school play caliber acting

Oh, like i expected, fairly amusing, only occasionally funny. The characters did a swell job acting like cartoons, & most of the effects were good.

Not recommended for kids over 4.

I loved the animated show, so am especially bitter.

Starts out extremely well, with a barrage of silly punning that would make the ZAZ boys proud – perhaps inevitably with its shift to the more familiar “road movie” plot, the film slows and becomes more conventional, albeit laid-back and easy to take. Uses its cameos well, and gives its leading trio of De Niro, Russo and Alexander plenty of room to play, while giving Perabo a fine star-maker opposite the convincing cartoon forms of R&B. No ROGER RABBIT (what is?) but great fun nonetheless.

rvw. remember watching it on ytv i think and being like wtf robert de niro. and loving it. but i think i only watched like from the first scene where he flies, multiple times i watched it lol. think i watched it all in high school and remembered the guard romance. but this time i loved the tone and puns and meta and bullwinkle is a star. and the intro cartoon stuff is great. lots of stuff meh or worse though like keenan and kel sticking around too long

There are regrets I have in life. Viewing this is not the most colossal but it's a start. Why is THIS the film that's faithful to the original source?

Gah. I loved this movie as a kid, but haven't watched it since. Giving it a 60 outta memory.

The only reason to watch this movie is to see Robert DeNiro deliver his famous 'You talkin' to me?' line from Taxi Driver. Amusing yet somehow embarrassing.

I don't think they had any idea what to do with this movie. Rocky and Bullwinkle are still cartoon characters, but now the villains are live-action people, and... None of their decisions really make sense. Russian spy villains were fitting when the cartoon was made, but in a modern setting it's just kind of ridiculous.

They took my fave cartoon from my childhood and butchered it. Piper Perabo is so cringeworthy that I have hated her ever since.

Kids don't know who Rocky and Bullwinkle are. This movie was certainly not made with an adult audience in mind. How the fuck was this made, and why did anyone think it was a good idea?

I got the joke. I laughed at times. But overall it was a waste of good talent. I don't recommend this movie for kids, because they won't understand the humor. I don't recommend this movie for most adults because they will find it juvenile. This movie is aimed at the fans of Moose and Squirrel. If you are an allumni of Wassamata U then this is your movie, otherwise, skip it.

Best to seek out watching the old shows playing SOMEWHERE at almost any hour on your 4000 cable channels, as you won't get a fix with this poor recreation.

This movie is an abomination as it makes Rocky and Bullwinkle unfunny.

The Rocky and Bullwinkle series is hilarious, satiric and still holds up today. This film, however? Icky, stupid, and missing all of the charm of the original. This film only gets 5 marks because they had enough sense to allow June Foray to reprise her role as Rocky.

...terrible, especially given how damned funny the old cartoons are.

Get a copy of the original tv series...

This really isn't so bad, it quite effectively captures the mood and tone of the cartoon. But why the hell is Robert De Niro in this? Why, why, why?
