The Adventures of Mark Twain

The claymation is impressive, as are the creepy moments and some of Twain's quotes, but the humour was mostly annoying. In particular, the 'Adam & Eve' segment was interminable and obnoxiously misogynistic (more so than the source for playing cute).

The severity of highs & lows this film contains continues to intrigue me.

Impressive animation and a refreshingly dark story for a kid's movie. The Mysterious Stranger segment is mesmerizing.

A deeply baffling passion project. So much visible effort was put into this, and in some places, it results in high artistry - the Satan sequence is rightfully remembered. But more often, it's visually unpleasant and/or confused (Tom Sawyer looks like a middle-aged lesbian hobbit with a terrible perm), and it spends way too much time in tepid social satire and sassy quips that make me feel like Mark Twain must've been the most insufferable human to ever live. By the end, I was kind of exhausted.

If you want a better family film about Twain's later life, I suggest you look for the Disney Channel film, "Mark Twain and Me"

Best depiction of Satan since... Dragon Ball Z?.. since Will Smith? Saw this too young and it's haunted me since. High highs and low lows aside from that depiction. Not fair to judge a summary of Twains work, more enjoyable as a sort of recap of some great stories.

Not flawless by any means, but unique in many respects. The character designs, particularly the facial expressions, are remarkably expressive. Some of the humor doesn't work, but the ending is surprisingly moving. BTW, what can you say about a kid's film where the characters, at one point, are floating through the void having a philosophical discussion with Satan about mortality?

Good animation doesn't make up for creepy character design, terrible humour and endless digressions from an already belabored and tiresome story.

Really great claymation and the Satan segment is brilliant. My love for Twain really blurs any of the subpar portions that exists.

Great anthology of Twain stories without a bit of watering down for kids.

An excellent claymation film featuring a really cool airship and the creepiest portrayal of Satan that I've ever seen.
