The Adventures of Lieutenant Petrosino (1912), the early feature about the real life Sicilian mafia buster Lt. Joseph Petrosino couldn't possibly have been done more corny. The acting so broad, so goofy. The only way to take it was as a comedy rather then a biographical drama about the brave man. That way one get a few laughs out of how ridiculous so much of this was.
