The Adventures of Frank Merriwell

A Universal 12-part serial with a lot of newcomers. Too many newcomers, for this sure needed some familiar faces! Difficult to get into the barely visible characters and the incredibly random situations they get into in each episode without any build-up. The star of The Adventures of Frank Merriwell (1936) is Donald Briggs, a radio performer in his first film! He'd played the lead character in the radio version of this series, so part of the gimmick is him continuing his role for the big screen.
