Cinematically flawed and scientifically implausible (to say the least). Even so, the ideas about cloning and its potential consequences are, in this movie, far more interesting, and pursued a great deal further, than in either BLADE RUNNER or GATTACA (despite the reputation of those films compared to this one). Also, Schwarzenegger delivers one very good line of dialogue, and he does so quite well. Uninspired direction means it tends to drag as it approaches the climax.

Sure, we all loved Arnie's other futuristic sci-fi action films, why wouldn't we love this?? Is this the only instance of the XFL being in film? I am upset that the two Arnies did not kiss. At the end of the film, a character is describing some of the philosophical questions about a person and clone existing simultaneously, which could have been really interesting. Instead, we get the reply of "enough philosophy!"

The 6th Day was another disappointment in a growing line of bombs for Arnie at the turn of the millennium. While it is more conceptually ambitious than End of Days, it lacks that film's style and novelty, although it's clearly superior to the likes of Eraser. Spottiswoode's flat footed direction is a major problem that ensures the film never really capitalises on its interesting, though derivative, premise, and Arnie's trademark one liners have no impact because of its structural deficiencies.

Outside of some glaringly bad camera effects (which are played up a LOT early on), this is a Bad movie in the best way. I mean, it's set in the future and our very first scene takes place during an XFL game -- great start. As a Vancouverite, this is very watchable for the locations alone (seeing how crazily they jump around town during car chases is hilarious). There are some decent ideas here, but they're underdeveloped. The twist is transparent. Clone Arnies working together, though? Awesome.

Who am I? You're me! No I'm you! But you're not me! How can you be me if I'm not you?! (See "Stolen Identity 3" on YouTube) Yeah "The 6th Day" proves to be a lot less than its potential would lead you to believe. Arnold should've done "The Island" instead. Wouldn't that have been awesome?

The basic idea holds some promise: A family man arrives home only to realize he’s been replaced by a clone. Too bad the film is a mess that’s feels like it’s been through a long development process: a bad and unbalanced script (the goofy humor feels like a last-minute glue-on, confusing the more serious themes), awful visual design, and out-of-place Schwarzennegger, who seems to have added his own daddy-moralistic touch to the film.

OK, so apparently this is a low-tier Arnold flick. Yet, for whatever reason, it felt like a pretty dang fun one to me, going into it completely blind. Honestly a way more interesting under-the-radar project than I expected to see from him.

Given that I would gladly rewatch even C-tier Arnie for the nth time over 95% of movies, I can't feel at all guilty about this. Just stupid fun. Granted it hasn't aged terrifically well (as is the case with a lot of the millennial-angst thrillers) - this was somewhat futuristic at release but now, despite the odd bit of prescience (amoral tech bro villain), it's mostly just quaint. Also way too many staircase chases. Maybe first watch holds up? / cf. Minority Report, Perfect Dark

After the recent shenanigans in Florida, it's not inconceivable that a constitutional amendment might be passed allowing foreign-born Americans to become US President, and so permit Arnold Schwarzenegger to stand as the Republican candidate. Meanwhile, we have an alternative glimpse of the future, The 6th Day, in which Arnie returns home from work to discover that he's been replaced by a clone, though not surprisingly his wife and daughter fail to spot the difference.

For me, this is a classic Arnold Schwarzenegger film. I've seen it so many times when I was younger. When I think about clone movies, this usually pops up pretty quick...I mean, it's got some seriously corny moments, for sure, and I wouldn't say Arnie was born for the role, but he does well with what he had, and I have a lot of nostalgia with it. Barely passable sci fi action thriller from Arnie. FX are ropey throughout, and the main plot 'twist' is painfully obvious throughout so lacks any impact when it is revealed. Could have been slightly improved by cutting 30 mins of the runtime as 2 hrs was too long.

The 6th Day was a pretty good action/sci-fi movie. I liked the sci-fi elements of the movie. Arnold wouldn't be my first choice when it comes to actors so I think this movie would have been a lot better with a different lead. The premise of a company that is making clones in a world where clones are outlawed is a pretty ripped from the headlines story. I've seen this movie before but I've forgotthe plot. As I sit here writting this review I'm forgetting portions too. It's ok but forgettable.

Top badass moment? Every time Arnold Schwarzenegger is on the screen. For the $25 million he's supposed to have been paid to make this movie, I'd expect nothing less. 1 cat and 0 decapitations. A nice, cute, grey and black stripy cat in a cardboard box, (but not in the box in a cruel way). Even has a speaking part but shamefully remains uncredited at the end.
