The 1882 Transit of Venus

What an exciting continuation to the 1874 short

As with Venus's prior transit of the sun in 1874, scientific teams set out around the world to observe from every possible angle, and also as last time, one of them documented the event via a series of chronological photographs. This time, it was Amhurst's David Peck Todd, who set off across the country to California to the not-yet-complete Lick Observatory atop Mt. Hamilton to employ a special telescopic camera for the purpose.
