I liked that this had a slightly different plot than the norm but this was also strangely kid-friendly and it takes a bit for things to get going.

Texas Trail (1937) is one of the weakest Hopalong Cassidy films I've seen so far. The group of William Boyd, Russell Hayden & George 'Gabby' Hayes are alright, but for some reason there isn't too much time for character moments and instead a uninteresting horse plot take most of the time with a lot of random landscape footage that doesn't really catch much of the wildlife excitement. Felt closer to a poverty row effort then a quality Hopalong production.
