Excellent spaghetti western is, like most of its genre, highly influenced by Leone's films, but still manages to be enjoyable on its own terms, especially thanks to distinctly amusing little touches in performance, characterisation and set design (love the roller-shade bottle protectors in the saloon!) Hill makes for a solid, stolid hero and the supporting cast is peppered with familiar faces from the genre. Climax and resolution is arguably a little dull and familiar.
