This movie has little connection with the 1932 original. It does, however, have lifted footage (tinted to more-or-less match the color), including obvious footage of Weissmuller's vine-swinging. Miller is not once called Tarzan in the movie, and his yell is also lifted Weissmuller. The elephants who wreck the pygmy village are lifted/tinted from the original, but the "pygmies" (real in the original) were kids from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles. (imdb)

Basically what you'd expect from an old Tarzan movie (it's hard to imagine any black person from any period not finding this deeply unpleasant), but it's both better & worse. The worse: all the stock footage which is pretty blatant & at times unnecessary. The "better" is that despite all the negative imagery, the filmmakers also seem to want to present Jane & her British encroachers as awful. Watching a "heroine" essentially shrug off Africans who seem rightfully angry is bizarrely intriguing
